We have three grocery stores and a pharmacy all close by. Each is within walking distance (although Rite Aid is a little bit further than the rest).
Rite Aid is a pharmacy/drug store on the corner of Fairfax and Sunset. There is a big parking lot off of Fairfax. They have every over the counter medication and many options for cosmetics and personal health items. They also have sodas and beer and some juices and lots of junk food. You can pick up a people magazine here.
Gelsons is on Santa Monica and Kings Road. It is a small grocery store with a nice produce selection, milk of all kinds and some over the counter medications. Their fish is quite nice too. They have a hot food section and deli.
Whole Foods is on Fairfax and Santa Monica. While Huffington Post says the “Whole Foods Parking Lot” video was filmed at a different location, I generally sing it while I try not to lose my cool while I look for a parking space here. However, it has a nice produce selection, a great fish and meat counter and a homeopathic medication section. They also have a hot food counter, deli and salad bar. They are pricey, but the food selection is top notch.
Trader Joes is a grocery store on Sunset and Crescent Heights. Its a great place to go and pick up a cheese and crackers and fruit and some wine or lovely sparkling juice. Their prices are great, and the food is pretty good too. Our kids love the mini ice cream sandwiches.
